I was catching up with the excellent Speechification blog and was directed by their recent post to The Poetry Archive, which was set up by Andrew Motion almost 10 years ago.
The title of my entry is of course lifted from T S Eliot's The Waste Land. You can hear the poet himself reading his poem here.

Petal, thank you so much for pointing out the existence of the Poetry Archive site. This will keep me going when - as now - I'm fed up with dvds! I used to have Eliot reading the Waste Land on several old 78s [which may even have been from the same original recording] but have not listened to it for so long since I got rid of the record player. It's been wonderful hearing his voice again! Night, night. XXX
